Our Work
Echo of Freedom works to protect the freedoms that let people take part in public life. Each area of our work stands on its own, and together they reflect one conviction: freedom is something people live, defend, and pass on to the next generation.
Democracy & Civic Participation

A democracy is only as strong as the people who take part in it. That participation takes many forms, from the simple act of showing up and listening to your neighbors to the courage of speaking out and holding those in power accountable. We organize peaceful demonstrations in front of the United Nations and wherever else we get the chance, bringing people from many communities together to be seen and heard. When people can come together, ask questions, and make their voices known, democracy stops being an idea on paper and becomes part of everyday life.
Echo of Freedom supports democracy campaigns, press freedom, freedom of expression, and election transparency.
Human Rights
Every person carries a dignity that no government, army, or majority can grant or take away. When that dignity is threatened — by detention, censorship, violence, or simply being ignored — silence becomes a kind of consent. This work stands with people whose rights are under pressure, and keeps their stories in the open, where they cannot be quietly erased.
In this work, Echo supports human rights campaigns, spotlighting individuals and groups whose rights are under pressure.
Education

Learning is how a community keeps its future in its own hands. Around the world, that can mean a classroom, a library, a conversation after school, or a young person finding the words to question what they have been told. In Africa, and in the Sahel in particular, the stakes are especially clear: where schools are scarce, disrupted, or far from home, education becomes both fragile and precious — a place where children and young people can gain knowledge, confidence, and hope, and shape their own lives. That example stays with us wherever this work goes, because the need is not confined to one region. Wherever learning is denied or interrupted, a door closes; wherever it is protected, one opens.
In this work, Echo supports children, helps them access learning tools including notebooks and books, and runs awareness campaigns in Africa and around the world.
Art

Art is not only painting. It is a spiritual revolution of change.
Some things are easier to feel in a painting than to explain in words. A color, a face, a quiet moment can open a conversation that arguments cannot, and can stay with a person long after they have left the room. That is why art belongs at the heart of this work. It gives people a way to remember, to grieve, to imagine something fairer, and to speak when speaking plainly feels too hard.
In this work, Echo supports art events and concerts across different fields, and supports artists through events and funding support.
Research and Analysis
Before we speak, we try to understand. Research and analysis give our work its footing: careful reading, honest documentation, and time spent listening to what is actually happening, rather than rushing to a conclusion. The questions we return to are the ones at the center of Echo of Freedom — freedom, democracy, and human rights — and how they are lived, tested, and defended in real communities. What we learn here shapes the rest of our work, quietly and carefully, and helps us speak with clarity rather than noise.
